Sounds like it's inside the ceiling itself, which is not good. You can use bleach to temporarily get rid of the mold presenting itself on the ceiling, but if you are renting, the landlord REALLY needs to have the issue properly addressed ASAP. If you own, you need to get it evaluated as it could be a sign of a MUCH bigger mold issue.

You can get mold and mildew resistant paint at better paint stores (just saw some at Dunn Edwards today). Part of the problem could be insufficient ventilation of the bathroom. If the former tenants said they could just wipe it off, it probably hasn't penetrated the drywall. So, it's probably just excessive moisture buildup from lack of proper ventilation (window or vent fan).

i had black mold in my apt… i bought mold/mildew remover (tilex) it was up the wall a ways and i sprayed it, went back in ten mins. it was completely gone.

If it's in the walls, then speak to the landlord and tell him that he has to take care of it ,and you will sleep in a hotel at his expense until it is taken care of .most landlords will try to make you pay for it… but if you have a lease then take him to court.

If he's a good guy then he should do it no prob. But if he knows you are staying in a hotel and he has to pay for it… the work should be done in no time… if you are staying in a hotel and you are paying for it he has no reason to fix it… you are paying rent, not using the utilities…so make sure he pays for it or reduces the rent in the amount it cost to sleep in the hotel.

but i'm considering a lawsuit… i told him about the mold about six times, and my apartment doesnt have windows that open, so I have strong reson to believe I'm suffering from black mold poisoning (dizziness, loss of memory, confusion, nausea, fatigue)

The reason the mold keeps coming back is because bleach doesn't always 100% kill the mold, you need to use a EPA approved black mold killer if you really want to kill mold, but also you may kill the mold you see with your eye but you won't kill the mold that you can't see that will just continue to keep growing back until you kill all the mold in the ceiling, in cases like these you need to call a certified mold removal company if the mold is deep into the drywall,ceiling,crawl space, attic, etc.
